I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
